Professor Alok Tiwari is a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon practising at Midland Health in Birmingham. He has expertise in the treatment of varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms, anterior lumbar interbody fusion, carotid artery disease, and diabetic foot.

Professor Tiwari completed his undergraduate medical studies in 1996 at the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and undertook basic surgical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Essex. In 2003, he completed a Master of Surgery degree with a thesis on hybrid cardiovascular graft development at the Royal Free Hospital in London. He has been a consultant surgeon since 2011, and developed the diabetic foot service at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Professor Tiwari is a keen researcher and educator. He is a Visiting Professor of vascular surgery at Birmingham City University, and was an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham from 2018 to 2022, and has more than 100 publications in his name, ranging from book chapters to articles on all aspects of vascular surgery. His current research interests are on mechanisms for atherosclerosis and diabetic foot. Professor Tiwari tailors care for each of his patients, offering both open and minimally invasive procedures.

He is involved in research and in addition to having numerous papers published in the Journal of American Academy of Dermatologists, British Journal of Dermatology, and British Journal of Hospital Medicine, he is also a principle investigator for the Spironolactone for Adult Female Acne (SAFA) study, a nationwide clinical trial for the treatment of hormonal acne. He is the undergraduate lead for medical students at St Mary's Hospital and is an honourary clinical teacher at Imperial College London. As a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation, Dr Phillips has also contributed to national media outlets, such as The Guardian, The Sun, and The Daily Mail.

Professor Paul Lee is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon based in London and Grantham, Lincolnshire, specialising in hip replacement, knee surgery and knee cartilage replacement alongside revision hip replacement, meniscus surgery and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery. He privately practises at 108 Harley Street medical centre and as the director at MSK Doctors in Ancaster, Lincolnshire. Professor Lee is highly qualified, and received his MBBCh in Medicine from Cardiff University in 2005 and went on to receive an MSc in Sports Medicine - Muscle Performance and Recovery, from Cardiff Metropolitan University three years later. He then returned to Cardiff University to complete a PhD entitled 'Treatment of Muscle Injuries' in 2013. 

He regularly treats elite sports people, including treatment of muscle injuries in UK Premier League footballers, significantly reducing their recovery time, allowing them to return to playing sooner. 

Professor Lee, who is held in high esteem by his patients, offers various non-surgical orthopaedic techniques including micro artho-glycan knee, actovegin muscle injury and stem cell injection treatments alongside the Unloader One® knee brace. He also prides himself in his surgical skills in the S.P.A.I.R.E tendon-sparing total hip replacement, FT-MPFL Patella re-alignment and All-Inside ACL reconstruction surgeries. 
He has also combined surgery, technology, engineering to develop the Single Treatment Autologous Chondrocyte implantation (STACi) procedure. 

Further to his qualifications, Professor Lee also has various fellowships from respected institutions including the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Tr & Orth), the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (FEBOT) and Orthopaedics Hospital in Oswestry. 

He is also a certified expert in the use of the Exeter hip system, which was developed after training on the Robin Ling Exeter Hip Replacement Fellowship in the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Hospital in Exeter. He also did international fellowships in Germany and Australia. Other higher training saw Professor Lee become a certified member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (MFSEM).

Professor Lee is widely published in various peer-reviewed journals and is an active member of the British Hip Society (BHS), British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Association (BOSTAA) and the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) alongside the Biological Knee Society (BKS). He is internationally recognised at the ICRS teaching centre of excellence for his teaching in cartilage and joint preservation surgery.

Mr Ranjit Deshpande is a senior consultant in cardiothoracic surgery who specialises in minimally invasive (keyhole) cardiac and thoracic surgery and is a prominent member of King’s Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) programme. Renowned for his innovative techniques, Mr Deshpande frequently uses bilateral internal mammary arteries during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) to achieve near-total arterial revascularisation for ischemic heart disease. He is internationally recognised for performing endoscopic CABG as a “beating heart” procedure, avoiding the need for sternotomy.

Mr Deshpande completed his training through the South-East Thames London Cardiothoracic Surgical Programme. He earned a prestigious scholarship from the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons to train in port-access endoscopic mitral valve repair for mitral valve prolapse at OLV Zeinkenhaus in Belgium. In 2006, he advanced his expertise further as a Senior Registrar in Advanced Aortic and Robotic Cardiac Surgery at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.

A vital member of the South London Cardiac Network’s complex major aortic surgery group, Mr Deshpande focuses on challenging cases such as aortic root and aortic dissection surgery. He is also the founder and treasurer of the British and Irish Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, reflecting his leadership in advancing the field of minimally invasive cardiac procedures.

He participates in Gamma Knife therapy and radiosurgery for various brain and spine disorders, and performs a wide array of spinal interventions, including perineural, facet, epidural, intradural, and other vertebral procedures. In addition to his clinical duties, he holds a significant research and academic position as a Professor of Practice at Imperial College London.

His main interests include the development and clinical implementation of innovative medical technologies, therapies, and devices. He leads several research trials and maintains extensive collaborative relationships both nationally and internationally. To date, he has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and was honored with the Du Boulay Visiting Professorship from the British Society of Neuroradiologists in 2017.
